Collaborate closely with quest designers to strategically place content and ensure seamless integration within the world, providing guidance and support. Provide insightful, constructive feedback on level design iterations, focusing on playability, visual quality, and world immersion, and ensuring adherence to design vision. Effectively communicate level design concepts and technical requirements to the art and engineering teams, serving as a key point of contact. Generate innovative environment designs within defined technical constraints and artistic guidelines, pushing the boundaries of the world experience. Develop detailed level documentation, including layout maps, environmental descriptions, and design rationale, setting the standard for the team. Prototype and iterate on level designs, balancing exploration opportunities, combat encounters, and narrative elements, and leading the refinement process. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level level designers, fostering their technical skills and artistic sensibilities, and promoting best practices. 6+ years of professional level design experience, bonus for open-worlds or large-scale environments that support action-adventure gameplay. Extensive experience within a professional game studio, with demonstrated success shipping multiple titles. Proficient in world-building tools (e.g., Unreal Engine World Composition, terrain sculpting tools). Deep understanding of level design principles, environmental storytelling, and best practices, with a demonstrable portfolio showcasing your expertise. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide and inspire a team. Highly proactive and collaborative team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
