AI-Driven UI Developer- FLEX/CONTRACT

Responsibilities

• Own the experience - design, develop, and implement intuitive, human-centered interfaces directly in code.
• Build scalable, responsive apps in Vue.js (and/or React) using modern component-driven architecture and TypeScript.
• Co-create with AI - guide AI agents with live code, critique and refine their outputs, and accelerate development by pairing human creativity with AI speed.
• Engineer with intent - write clean, modular, maintainable code and architect reusable UI systems that scale.
• Ship with quality - ensure accessibility, performance, and responsiveness across devices and platforms.
• Automate for speed - leverage testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for rapid iteration without sacrificing stability.

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an AI-Driven UI Developer. We're not building just another app - we're redefining how humans and AI create together. Must be within the general vicinity of Durham, NC , 5 days a week in office. Note: This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. Hourly Pay Range : $45.00-$55.00 per hour. Compensation depends on the skills and experience of the candidate. (40 hours per week, 6 Month Contract Role) This isn't your typical front-end job. As part of our team, you'll own the entire UI/UX in code, working side-by-side with AI agents as collaborators, not just tools. Must Have Qualifications (Required): BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. 3-5 years of hands-on front-end experience. Deep expertise in Vue.js or ReactJS (bonus if you've worked with both). A track record of designing UI directly in code - not just implementing handoffs. Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code) / AI agents, and the curiosity to push them further. Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS a plus). Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, Rollup, Babel) and Git workflows. Obsession with performance, state management, and pixel-perfect execution. Startup mindset - fast, scrappy, creative problem solver who can balance design intuition with engineering rigor.
