Responsibilities
- Maintains responsibility for the technical support of imaging equipment within area of responsibility, with primary focus on CT systems across multiple sites.

- Participates in research and development projects relating to imaging equipment (e.g. image quality and dose measurement).
- Participates in team processes including hiring, planning, and goal-setting; attends departmental, team, and medical imaging site meetings as required.
- Performs risk management activities (e.g. incident investigations, managing safety alerts/recalls, proactively identifying safety-related issues).
- Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
- Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention's of the Act, in a timely manner.
- Completion of a 3-year community college program in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology (or recognized equivalent) is required
- At a minimum, 7 years of practical and related experience is required, with significant experience supporting Medical Imaging equipment in a clinical environment preferred
- Experience working in a hospital environment preferred
- Membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or other equivalent provincial technology association is an asset
- Certification as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist through the ACI is an asset
- Membership in a provincial or national clinical/biomedical engineering society (e.g. CESO, CMBES) is an asset
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills in a technical field, with demonstrated ability to lead on complex and escalated issues

The Imaging Service team supports Molecular Imaging, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Breast Imaging, Computed Tomography, Fluoroscopy, and Angiography systems. This position is located in the downtown core and it is preferred that candidates have reliable transportation for coming into the office on a timely manner.
