The Regional Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for driving and supporting personnel safety, process safety and regulatory compliance initiatives throughout their region. Developing and rolling out standard processes and programs that support the strategic vision of Lineage and collaborating with cross functional teams to drive performance. A vital component of this role will be to ensure processes and individuals are operating in compliance with regulations mandated by federal, provincial, and local agencies, Lineage policies and programs and industry best practices. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct annual health and safety inspections at facilities within your region and work with facilities and local management to close corrective actions; Assist facilities in incident investigations, root cause analysis and adequate corrective actions; Provide compliance training and support to regional facilities; Ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) process hazard analyses (PHA) and compliance audits are completed in accordance with applicable Federal and Provincial regulations, including Environmental Emergency (E2) requirements and recognized industry standards within your region; Support facilities through management of change processes (MOC); Review construction and expansion projects to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and Provincial occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the Canada Labour Code, provincial OHS legislation, and Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) requirements; Interact with government agencies during regulatory inspections, including negotiating orders, findings, and settlements; Support facilities with environmental programs, CEPA and/or permitting; Manage safety and compliance performance metrics and evaluate data objectively and accurately utilizing analytical skills to report trends and corrective actions to drive best in class performance and share best practices; Position requires up to 50% travel based on employee's location relative to the region they support; ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May lead and develop strategic projects that strengthen Lineage's safety and compliance culture MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES) Based on experience will be a subject matter expert (SME) in a particular area(s) of OHSA, WorkSafe, or the Ministry of Labour requirements; Bachelor's degree in Process, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety or relative field; Professional certification in OHSA or equivalent program preferred (CSP, CIH, CHMM, OHST); 5 years' experience in environmental health and safety and/or process safety, preferably with management and multi-site experience; Candidate must be knowledgeable of applicable Federal, Provincial, and local regulations, including the Canada Labour Code Part II, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), Environmental Emergency (E2) Regulations, provincial occupational health and safety legislation, applicable CSA and IIAR standards, and other relevant environmental and safety codes; Refrigeration experience a plus; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization; Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
