What you get to do: Being Shallow Water Attendant or Lifeguard at Water Country USA is a lot more than sitting on a platform and putting zinc oxide on your nose. You'll play a key role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable guest experience. In addition to monitoring swimming areas and helping guests in distress, you'll greet and interact with guests, answer questions and resolve guest issues. You will: Warn guests of dangerous water activities Prevent and respond to guest emergencies Administer first aid Participate in scheduled in-service training and regular audits Be proficient in park knowledge, water rescue, CPR/AED and First Aid Skills Maintain cleanliness of your area Consistently practice safe work habits, including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) What it takes to succeed: You must be at least 16 years of age You will need to successfully complete the pre-requisite swim test, including 50-yard continuous swim, underwater object retrieval, etc. You must successfully pass the company provided lifeguard certification courses You will participate in monthly in-service trainings and various safety audits You must be comfortable with heights You must be able to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays Compensation: $13.00/ hour The perks of the position: Ambassadors will enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment, and great teammates, as well as: FREE park admission Discounts on park admission tickets and passes for family and friends Park discounts on food, merchandise, etc. Scholarship opportunities Exclusive employee events and giveaways EEO Employer: SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
