Ciena is seeking a Global Commodity Manager focused on Indium Phosphide (InP) to drive supplier strategy, technology alignment, and supply continuity across a global foundry ecosystem. This role connects internal engineering, product, and operations teams with external partners to enable scalable innovation and cost competitiveness. Success in this position directly impacts long-term technology roadmaps, product delivery, and supplier performance. How you will make an impact: Develop and execute global commodity strategies for InP wafer fabrication and related technologies Lead commercial engagements with strategic InP foundry partners and act as the primary point of contact for supplier relationships Establish supplier governance frameworks including business reviews, performance management, and roadmap alignment Drive supplier accountability for quality, delivery, capacity, and technology development commitments Lead sourcing decisions, supplier selection processes, and contract negotiations Implement cost optimization initiatives through analysis of cost structures and continuous improvement programs Align supplier capabilities with internal product roadmaps, NPI requirements, and long-term technology strategies The must haves: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline Experience: 8+ years of experience in semiconductor sourcing, commodity management, supplier management, or foundry management Application of experience working with Indium Phosphide (InP), photonics, optical components, compound semiconductors, or advanced semiconductor technologies Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology development programs Application of semiconductor manufacturing processes and foundry business models Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder alignment and strategic supplier partnerships
