As a Senior SAP AR & Cash Application Engineer, you will own and evolve Moderna's global Accounts Receivable and cash application ecosystem within SAP S/4HANA. You will drive automation, integration, and standardization across complex financial flows, partnering across Finance, Treasury, and Digital teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of O2C through advanced technologies including AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation. Here's What You'll Do Serve as the SAP subject matter expert across FI-AR, Credit Management, Dispute & Collections, and Bank Accounting, ensuring robust and scalable solutions across the global landscape. Own and configure end-to-end AR processes including open items management, credit management, lockbox, electronic bank statements (EBS), posting rules, clearing logic, and automation frameworks. Lead the integration of global banking platforms leveraging ISO20022 standards (camt.053/054 and related formats), ensuring seamless and accurate financial data flows. Maintain and optimize electronic bank statement processing, workflows, house bank configurations, and reconciliation structures to enable high levels of automation and accuracy. Design, implement, and enhance global credit management policies, including scoring models and integrations with third-party providers such as Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Architect and continuously improve global clearing logic to increase match rates, reduce manual intervention, and enhance operational efficiency. Drive integration between AR/cash application processes and external platforms including eCommerce systems, EDI frameworks, Stripe, and other payment service providers (PSPs). Lead the implementation and integration of global government e-invoicing solutions, partnering with providers such as Edicom to ensure compliance and scalability. Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and lead testing cycles across UNIT, SIT, and UAT phases to ensure solution integrity and performance. Champion continuous improvement initiatives by embedding automation technologies such as AI, ML, and RPA to enhance AR operations and KPI performance. Ensure adherence to SOX compliance standards, maintaining audit controls, runbooks, and comprehensive global documentation. Deliver end-user training and support global rollout and localization of AR and cash application processes across regions. Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related discipline. 7+ years of hands‑on SAP FI‑AR, Bank Accounting, and Credit Management experience. Strong expertise in AR configuration, incoming payments, lockbox, EBS, cash application and clearing rules. Experience with SAP Credit Management (FSCM), ISO20022/SWIFT banking integrations, Duning & dispute. Experience with Global Government E-invoicing AR implementation Experience with SAP BTP platform with D&B Knowledge of EDI transactions such as INVOIC, REMADV, PAYEXT. Experience integrating SAP with eCommerce and payment service providers (Stripe, PayPal, etc.). Strong understanding of O2C/RTR processes, reconciliations, controls, and automation tools Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) SAP S/4HANA Finance or FSCM certification. Experience with AI/ML cash application solutions Experience integrating large-scale commercial platforms and customer EDI flows. Pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience.
