Case Worker (ATSI Identified) | Home Access for people with Disability | Red Hill Employment Term: Full-time, maximum-term until 30 June 2028 Location: Red Hill Remuneration: $44.58 + super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay) Please note this is a Full-time, maximum-term until 30 June 2028 opportunity offering 76 hours per fortnight based out of our Red Hill location. This is due to the nature of the work, which involves supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to navigate housing systems, services and tenancies in ways that are culturally safe, trusted and responsive. The role requires the application of lived experience, cultural knowledge, and community‑informed approaches to reduce barriers to housing, strengthen client self‑determination, and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability who are experiencing, or at risk of, housing instability. Your part in our UnitingCare team The Home Access for people with Disability program objective is to ensure that people with disability have access to secure, suitable, and stable housing. By providing comprehensive support and capability building through a collaborative, multi-agency approach, the service aims to facilitate seamless transitions into appropriate housing solutions, enhancing the quality of life for people with disability. As a Culturally Safe Practice and Community‑Responsive Case Work (Identified Role) for our Home Access for people with Disability Program, you will work with clients to find and maintain suitable housing. Responsibilities include: Apply cultural knowledge, lived experience and community‑informed practice to deliver housing and tenancy support that is culturally safe, respectful and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with disability. Build and maintain trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients by recognising the impacts of intergenerational disadvantage, systemic barriers, and previous experiences with housing and service systems. Support clients to exercise choice, voice and self‑determination in housing decisions, recognising family, kinship and community considerations where relevant. Provide culturally informed advocacy with housing providers, landlords and service systems to reduce barriers and improve access to appropriate housing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Contribute cultural insight to service planning, case discussions and continuous improvement activities, while operating within role scope and without assuming sole responsibility for organisational cultural capability. You identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or both ( Evidence of Aboriginality/or Torres Strait Islander descent is required) Minimum Cert IV in Human Services, Disability or Diploma in a related field with at least 2 years' experience. Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card). Current Drivers Licence.
