Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead rezoning applications, including customer support, management of internal and public review, drafting staff reports, presenting to Planning Board and City Council, and ensuring outcomes further the City's adopted plans.
- Coordinate review of rezonings with ongoing initiatives in other work groups, such as text amendments, development and infrastructure review of large sites, and neighborhood plans.
- Assist with negotiation of development agreements and other commitments related to rezonings, related to topics such as housing, open space, and/or community serving uses.
- Proactively engage with internal and external partners, including facilitating meetings, making effective presentations, and bringing together stakeholders to anticipate and resolve issues.
- Contribute to efforts to improve the rezoning process to make it more equitable, transparent, and efficient.
- Support efforts to implement adopted plans, such as identifying rezoning implementation opportunities, writing zoning regulations and design guidelines, reviewing of development projects and comprehensive sign plans, and working with other implementing agencies and organizations.
