About the role

Position Details Travel required to customer sites supporting nuclear and fossil power generation facilities Supports planned outages, maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, inspections, and emergency service activities Anticipated schedule may include extended work hours, overtime, weekends, nights, holidays, and outage schedules as required Per diem and travel benefits may be available for qualifying assignments Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access authorization and satisfy all site access requirements PROJECT-BASED TRAVEL ROLE This position supports outage and project assignments at nuclear power plants across the United States. Work locations will vary based on project awards and plant outage schedules. Candidates must be willing to travel and work at nuclear facilities nationwide for the duration of assigned outages or maintenance projects. Current anticipated project locations include: Cooper Nuclear Station - Auburn, NE FitzPatrick Nuclear Station - Oswego, NY Additional project assignments may be added as customer needs, outage schedules, and project awards evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, overhaul, reassembly, and testing of centrifugal, positive displacement, vertical, and specialty pumps
  • Diagnose mechanical equipment issues and perform corrective maintenance activities
  • Install and replace bearings, bushings, wear rings, shafts, sleeves, impellers, mechanical seals, packing, and related pump components
  • Perform shaft alignment using precision alignment methods and equipment
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Support outage maintenance, equipment inspections, and emergency service activities at customer facilities
  • Assist with equipment removal, installation, alignment, and commissioning activities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and specifications
  • Complete work orders, inspection reports, repair documentation, and maintenance records accurately and timely
  • Participate in pre-job briefs, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain housekeeping, foreign material exclusion (FME), and work area controls as required
  • Follow radiation protection requirements, industrial safety procedures, and plant operational standards
  • Maintain compliance with all customer, regulatory, quality assurance, and site-specific requirements
  • Experience / Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school, vocational training, military mechanical training, or related education preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in pump maintenance, rotating equipment repair, industrial maintenance, power generation, or related mechanical trades
  • Experience with pump disassembly, repair, inspection, and reassembly
  • Experience performing shaft alignment and precision measurements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, maintenance procedures, and work instructions
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Senior-Level Consideration
  • Candidates with significant pump maintenance and rotating equipment experience, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, outage leadership experience, technical mentoring experience, or eight (8) or more years of relevant industry experience may be cons
