Job Description Opening Date: June 11, 2026 Closing Date: June 26, 2026 Job Class Code: 6542 Grade: 11 Salary: $15.70 - $19.95/hr.** **This is inclusive of a .60¢/hr. institutional stipend Currently, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions. DESCRIPTION: This is machine and trades work in operating motor-driven wheel and track mounted equipment which requires no higher than a Class B license for operation on a public highway. Responsibilities include operating, fueling, and performing routine maintenance on assigned vehicles and devices such as cranes, conveyors, shovels, and loaders mounted thereon. Work is performed under general supervision. REPRESENTATIVE TASKS: Operates light and medium duty trucks in order to haul freight, gravel, snow, and other material from one location to another or to perform tasks such as plowing snow. Fills tank with material and operates equipment in order to apply oils, asphalt, and tars to roadways and parking areas. Operates truck mounted winches and cranes in order to load and unload material. Fills fuel tanks, adds lubricating oils and completes various other tasks in order to maintain equipment in good order. Repairs or assists mechanic in repairing assigned equipment in order to restore it to service as quickly as possible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of the above knowledges and abilities. LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A valid Maine Class B motor vehicle operator's license may be required depending on equipment to be operated and the circumstances of its use. Operators of off-the-road vehicles do not need a Class B license.
