About the role

Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Subsea Asset Integrity Engineer - Subsea Pipelines & Systems to join the Subsea, Marine and Shipping team. Reporting to the Subsea Engineering Lead, this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru. We are seeking a highly experienced Subsea Asset Integrity Engineer to join our Subsea team within the Chevron ENGINE Center. This role is critical for ensuring the long-term integrity of subsea assets. This position will provide integrity focused technical support/consulting to subsea infrastructures and operations for Chevron offshore and subsea facilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, proven track record in managing integrity challenges in complex offshore environments and develop capabilities of others through mentoring and informal leadership. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the review, assessment and update of inspection data for subsea pressure systems, pipelines and structures and the development of project strategy documentation such as inspection manual.
  • Provide technical support to the inspection team, ensuring threats are evaluated, procedures are followed, and work is completed in accordance with Chevron inspection manual.
  • Create anomaly management and repair strategies including engineering assessment, recommendation, tracking and mitigation plans.
  • Risk Assessment execution for subsea pipelines, deepwater risers, subsea equipment, pressure vessels, pipelines, and controls systems.
  • Review and perform pipeline risk assessment in line with the pipeline integrity management industry standards.
  • Identify and develop pipeline inspection, testing & preventive maintenance (ITPM) tasks to manage pipeline risks/integrity threats.
  • Review and perform pipeline integrity assessments - hydrotest, in-line inspection (ILI) & other pipeline integrity technologies.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including pipeline shut-in cycles, corrosion rates, cathodic protection, Flex Joint fatigue, pressures, temperatures, chemical injection effectiveness etc.
  • Provide technical leadership on corrosion engineering and cathodic protection systems, working closely with life extension, design and installation teams to ensure integrity requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • The engineer will support continuous development of Chevron reliability and integrity documentation, technology development and strategic research programs.
  • Interface and collaborate with other Chevron technical functions including subsea power and controls, subsea pipelines, materials and welding, quality as well as business unit operations and projects teams.
  • Work as a contributor in part of a larger team and independently. Establish own priorities and schedules to meet the needs of the broader team.
  • Participate in incident investigations and hazard/risk identification and mitigation activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships across Chevron, suppliers and industry peers.
  • Develop capabilities of others in subsea and integrity through mentoring and informal leadership. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the organization.
