Responsibilities

  • HR & Strategic Advisory
  • You will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation in the Japan office, ensuring legislation changes are proactively addressed, interpreted, and implemented with a best practice approach.
  • You will build strong and influential relationships with senior leaders and will be responsible for ensuring their client groups receive a positive and comprehensive HR service.

  • Project Management:
  • Work closely with the Head of HR for APAC & ME to deliver the People Plan for Japan. This will involve coordinating and delivering projects aligned to the People strategy and the employee life cycle to enhance commercial outcomes for the region
  • Culture and Engagement
  • Advise leaders in introducing best practice to impact positive culture and engagement. Do this through various forums including
  • Influencing the IG Japanese Leadership team.
  • Lead by example and build strong relationships and trust with the wider team.
  • Support country specific initiatives around Culture and Engagement aligned to the People Strategy (e.g. OHS, Wellbeing, etc.)
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Seek regular feedback to positively enhance the stakeholder experience and proactively spot opportunities how the People function can better support outcomes
  • Support the embedding of an updated HR Target Operating Model and leverage HR tools and resources to drive self-service and consistency in global processes and standards.
  • Use data and analysis to drive better people management decision makin
  • Work with partners in other functions within the People team (Payroll, Recruitment, Operations) to continually improve our service to our team

  • What you'll need for this role
  • Your experience:
  • Educated to degree level in HR, Business or relevant field
  • Extensive experience as a HR Generalist (min. 5 years) and at least 3 years in a managerial/senior capacity
  • Sound experience in managing all processes involved in the usual employee life cycle independently
  • Experience in working within the employment legislation environment

Your role in the Team Reporting to the Head of HR - APAC & ME this role is accountable for the delivery of an excellent and reliable HR service experience and will support he delivery of the People Strategy in our Tokyo office. In Japan, you will independently drive compliance (employment legislation), best practice in all matters HR, as well as supporting Business Leaders in driving culture and engagement. You will also support our Tokyo office with a range of projects. You will be part of a small divisional team and a larger global HR team, which will lend support on areas like HR Operations, L&D, Payroll and Systems. As part of the global team, you will be involved in and/or own global as well as cyclical BAU projects (e.g. cyclical performance management processes, engagement survey, etc.)
