About the role

The incumbent serves as the Branch Manager within the NAS Technical Services Division of the FAA Academy. The incumbent has authority for the administrative and technical direction of the branch and assigned staff. The branch manager executes the strategic direction of the Division Manager and leverages internal capabilities to meet or exceed customer expectations. To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: experience with at least one Technical Operations related systems (Radar, Navigation, Instrument Landing Systems, Automation, or Communications); experience developing or leading a technical team; experience monitoring/tracking/coordinating/assigning the installation of both Air Traffic and Technical Operations training systems.
