About the role

Judicial Security Division in Arlington, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Intelligence Research Specialist. You will be responsible for providing support for threat investigations, assisting with assessing threats, incidents, and inappropriate communications in terms of their degree and nature for referral to investigators for validation. GS-9 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-7 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-9 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0132-9 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: A. Have one (1) year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 level of the Federal Service that includes performing these following duties: 1) conduct open-source intelligence research and analysis in support of threat investigations and assessments; 2) consolidate, analyze, and evaluate incoming open-source intelligence reports and information; 3) prepare finished intelligence reports (e.g. basic-descriptive, current-reportorial, or speculative-estimative); 4) work with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate, discuss, test, and validate intelligence research reports; and 5) develop new concepts, guides, and methodologies for process improvement; OR B. Possess a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or possession of a LL.B. or J.D., degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Strategic Intelligence, Political Science, or International Studies, or other closely related fields. NOTE: MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS; OR C. Have a combination of education and specialized experience as listed above. NOTE: MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS.
