Job Duties: As a bridge design intern at the Nebraska Department of Transportation Bridge Division, you will have the potential to gain experience and develop skills in a variety of areas. This may include learning how to read bridge construction plans effectively and quickly, as well as developing plans, geometric design, and detailing skills. You may also become familiar with specialized bridge software. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in structural, hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical, roadway, materials, construction, and environmental engineering, as an active member of multi-disciplinary teams. You may also learn how bridges are constructed through in-the-field opportunities. These experiences offer a unique opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge that can help you advance your career in the field of bridge design and detailing. Successful completion of our internship program can open opportunities for full-time positions with the Nebraska Department of Transportation's Bridge Division. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Must be a three-fourths time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned.
