About the role

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. For the CP-04 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the CP-03/GS-05 receiving and processing documents and data/statistical information in accordance with established procedures; reviewing documents and reports for completeness and entering information into an automated tracking system; researching information from various sources and communicating results to Specialists; or similar administrative experience. For the CP-05 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the CP-04/GS-06 receiving and processing documents and data/statistical information in accordance with established procedures; reviewing documents and reports for completeness and entering information into an automated tracking system; assisting in the development and/or implementation of clerical or administrative processes for application within a unit or subdivision; and selecting, evaluating and arranging information from files and other sources for use by others in completing larger reports and projects; or similar administrative experience. For the CP-06 level, you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the CP-05/GS-07 developing and implementing administrative procedures and general policies; analyzing and interpreting information related to administrative functions; entering, updating, and managing data across various systems while addressing and correcting any errors or inconsistencies; completing basic financial tasks in support of the budget process; and independently completing reports and projects for the organization.
