Description/Purpose A teacher at the Stockholm International School is responsible for the quality education of students in relation to the SIS curricula and programs of study. S/he/they/ works to stimulate and motivate students towards high academic performance and commitment to lifelong learning as well as to prepare students for continuing education at SIS and other educational institutions. A teacher at SIS is aware of and understands their importance for the academic development and psycho-social education of students. A teacher always keeps in mind the SIS motto: Valued, Challenged, Balanced, Prepared. Duties/Responsibilities To provide an excellent education for Primary students (Grades 1 to 5). Contributing to the development and implementation of the curriculum. Communicating regularly with parents. Be an active and contributing member of the School's faculty. Participating in the full range of professional activities in the school. Actively contributing to the operational needs of the school. Required Education, Experience and Qualifications Teaching qualification. Qualifications in the area of Primary/Elementary education. Experience as a teacher. Excellent communication skills in English, at a native speaker level. The ability to establish rapport with adults and students. The ability to plan collaboratively and work effectively in a team. A pleasant and friendly personality. The ability to function effectively under pressure. The ability to show initiative and work independently. It would be desirable for the successful applicant to have a working knowledge of an inquiry-based learning program, IB PYP or their equivalent. Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage. At Stockholm International School we are committed to protecting children.
