As a Transition Coordinator with The Menta Education Group, you will prepare students aged 14-22 to embrace life after school in a behavioral, emotional and social capacity. You will bridge the critical gap between school and adult life by implementing an "outside-the-school-walls" mindset that centers on fostering student independence, building robust community networks and navigating the real world. 6340 S. New England Ave. Chicago, IL 60638 General Staff Hours are 8:00am-3:30pm CT, Monday-Friday. Occasional Responsibilities beyond work hours. About Menta Academy Midway Menta Academy Midway promotes independence in students by creating a learning environment that fosters individualization and planning. The program provides support for English and non-English speaking children with disabilities by focusing on the whole child in their native language. Collaborative and data-based problem-solving approaches are utilized to develop appropriate interventions and progress monitoring. The classrooms integrate evidence-based strategies from the Structured Teaching Model developed by Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Physical structure, visual schedules, work systems, communication systems, and sensory supports are thoughtfully integrated to optimize student success. Midway serves students in grades K-12 and those transitioning from school to life ages 18-21. Disabilities served include autism, emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, traumatic brain injury, and multiple disabilities.
