Location: Mansfield, OH Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Quality Specialist to support the daily quality assurance activities for stainless steel hot band production on site at our Mansfield, Ohio facility. This role is responsible for performing product disposition decisions under established guidelines, reviewing process and inspection data, and ensuring compliance with customer order requirements. In addition, this position provides support to the LMF Chemistry Lab by assisting with routine maintenance, calibration checks, and supply management. As a result of this role, the Quality Specialist will develop technical knowledge of product quality, manufacturing processes, and laboratory operations in a steelmaking environment. Summary of Responsibilities: Follow all plant and department safety procedures, including proper Personal Protection Equipment use Adhere to established quality systems, procedures, and documentation requirements Apply standard quality criteria to determine product acceptability and perform daily disposition of stainless steel hot bands using defined procedures, specifications, and quality standards and document accordingly Review process holds and assist in determining appropriate disposition actions Analyze automated surface inspection system maps to identify potential defects and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel Assist the Lab Supervisor with routine lab operations and daily tasks including timely and accurate reporting of results in accordance with procedures Help maintain lab equipment, including basic upkeep and organization, monitor inventory and assist with ordering lab supplies Support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping Participation in lab on call rotation including after-hours support as needed Other duties as assigned
