Provides vision and leadership for development of an agenda encompassing interdisciplinary research, evidence-based practice (EBP), nursing outcome datasets, and Magnet re-designation. Provides leadership for programs of research within the department as well as conducting own program of research. Facilitates research utilization in clinical practice and research consultation/collaboration with nurses and interdisciplinary colleagues. Defines needed infrastructure which supports and directs nursing and interdisciplinary EBP and research activities. Develops a system and support for engaging and mentoring nurse scientists, Advanced Practice Nurses and clinical staff. The translation of clinically relevant research into clinical practice are key components of this role. Reports to the Vice President for Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer.
