About the role
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is recognised as a clinical leader within the nursing team and works as a delegate of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to model the core values of St Vincent's through effective leadership and management of the nursing team. Position duties: Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in accordance with the values and health care philosophy of the Sisters of Charity Support the NUM with the daily running of the ward including bed management, staff management and attending relevant meetings Act as a clinical mentor and role model for all staff, to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained Implement and support organisational change as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager Ensure incidents are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident and reported in Riskman Demonstrate an understanding of the unit targets and how they can be achieved Participate in quality activities, allocated portfolio and implementation of the NSQHS standards Provide clinical direction and acts as a resource person to all nursing staff Classifications for this position will range between YW11 - YW12 ($106,834.00 - $110,432.10 per annum pro rata). Your Contribution Experience in palliative care nursing - minimum 3 years in specialty area. Experience as ANUM or similar leadership/management role Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct, enthuse and encourage a multidisciplinary team Experience in conflict management/negotiations Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills which allows for effective communication with patients, visitors and staff at all levels Demonstrated ability to assist and support change Knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation agency (AHPRA) Current Nursing AHPRA Registration Current National criminal history check
