With small class sizes, personalized learning plans, flexible learning options, and dedicated academic and career support, Academic Upgrading creates an inclusive and welcoming environment designed specifically for adult learners returning to education. Serving students across London and regional campuses, the team is passionate about helping learners overcome barriers, develop essential skills, and achieve meaningful educational and career goals. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Technologist provides intake, assessment, outreach and information/referral and administrative support for adults requiring academic upgrading services. Develops and monitors individualized training plans, facilitates workshops and provides assistance and direction to learners. How You'll Make an Impact Academic Support Assists students in academic upgrading programs by facilitating learning and related activities as prescribed by program curriculum Demonstrating, supporting and explaining the application of theory to students according to prescribed skills and objectives in the program curriculum, following faculty instruction Planning, organizing and facilitating workshops (for example, digital literacy, orientation, math booster and workshops requested within the community) Providing remedial assistance Developing learner training plans with applicants/students and tracking the milestones and outcomes in systems and databases as per provincial guidelines Facilitating practical skills in small groups, class and individual activities Attending and participating in operational and academic meetings for the purpose of problem-solving and the development of procedures Diagnostic and Assessment Support Reviewing and supporting the literacy/numeracy/employability skills of students, by utilizing a variety of prescribed diagnostic tools. (for example, Common Assessment, ensuring updated FOL content, and ensuring the use of relevant tools are being utilized within the program) Schedules and invigilates student assessment sessions Information / Referral & Administrative Activities Liaising with faculty, students, community agencies and other college areas/departments for referral purposes; including but not limited to workshops and information sessions Weekly outreach to Employment Ontario services within the City of London Maintains annual planning cycle calendar to ensure action items are not overlooked Monitors program success with a student success plan Monitors student attendance in accordance with program requirements, follows up on disengagement, and supports success by supporting and contributing to student success plans Administe
