Mechanical Design & Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent to support product development.
• Prepare, review, and update engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Perform design analysis and validation, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) where applicable, to verify functionality, manufacturability, safety, and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers, production teams, suppliers, and customers to define and clarify technical requirements and project specifications.
• Support prototype fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and implement product improvements based on test results.
• Ensure all engineering designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and quality requirements.
• Continuously improve product design, engineering processes, and manufacturing efficiency through analysis and feedback.
• Coordinate engineering projects from design through production and delivery to meet project timelines.
• Oversee Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) activities to verify vehicles and equipment meet quality standards before customer handover.
• Prepare and submit warranty claims and liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve claims efficiently.
• Support technical investigations and provide engineering solutions for product and customer issues.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely completion of engineering and project deliverables.
• Maintain engineering records, project documentation, and technical reports to support project tracking and compliance.
• Monitor project progress and update engineering schedules and status reports to inform stakeholders.
• Support order processing, project documentation, and engineering-related administrative activities to facilitate smooth operations.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer delivery.
• Respond to customer and internal enquiries related to engineering projects, technical documentation, and project status.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
• Required competencies and certifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, automotive, commercial vehicle, or engineering project environments.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent 2D/3D design software.
• Experience preparing engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing specifications.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, fabrication processes, and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Preferred competencies and qualifications
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Familiarity with Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) processes and warranty claim administration.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin to coordinate with Mandarin-speaking customers, workers, and suppliers.
• Candidates able to start work on short notice.
