About the role
The Student Medical Assistant participates in Riverside's Medical Assistant Earn and Learn Program, a structured, paid training program designed to develop the clinical, technical, and professional skills necessary for successful employment as a Certified Medical Assistant. Upon completion of program, students will be transferred into a Certified Medical Assistant job profile at a Riverside Medical Group Practice.
Responsibilities
- Participates in classroom instruction, simulation, and hands-on clinical training. Completes all competencies, evaluations, and Earn and Learn Program requirements.
- Performs basic clinical tasks under direct supervision by designated preceptor.
- Performs laboratory procedures including specimen handling and point-of-care testing after completing associated clinical competency and didactic training.
- Assists with administrative, front-end operations, and operational tasks as part of training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
- Less than 1 year Medical office and/or clinical experience (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
