About the role

Due to recent project wins in the Transport, Water Resources, Energy and Advisory Markets we are growing our team. In this position, you will play an integral part in an ANZ team of highly skilled flooding specialists that 'bring ideas to life' for our clients. In this role, you will conduct hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of projects through collaboration with other transport (road and rail), drainage, land development, dams, water resources advisory, and energy teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters' level degree in civil or environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
  • 5 years of experience in the flooding industry
  • Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, and XP-RAFTS required
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information and modelling results
  • Strong understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively at an internal level
  • Ability to deliver the flood modelling tasks on time within the budget, time frame and high quality
  • Have an interest in technological advances and applying innovation
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a supportive environment where people can grow and succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Hydrology & Flooding engineer to join our NSW Hydrology & Flooding Team in Sydney/Newcastle. This will be a start of exploring more growth with a world-class company and various types and scales of projects within but not limited to NSW and ACT. On a day-to-day basis, you will tackle the delivery of flood assessment on major Transport/Land/Water infrastructure/Dams/Energy projects across NSW/ACT. You will collaborate across disciplines internally and externally with clients and public authorities to address technical queries and drive an optimum engineering solution. As a Hydrology & Flooding engineer in the NSW Hydrology & Flooding team (Sydney/Newcastle), you will join as a key member that adds to the diversity of thought, skills, and experience of the group.
