We are now searching for an experienced and dependable Quantity Surveyor to support projects of every scale, contribute to Synergraphic's growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. The ideal candidate will have technical experience in such projects, in particular Glazing works, to deliver on our projects.
Responsibilities
- Tender & Cost Estimation
- Quantity Take-Offs: Measure glass panels, aluminium profiles, and hardware from architectural drawings using digital measurement tools.
- Supplier Negotiation: Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive quotes from glass processors and material suppliers.
- Tender Submission: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and build-ups for tender submissions.
- Commercial & Contract Administration
- Progress Claims: Prepare and submit monthly progress claims to main contractors, and certify progress payments for subcontractors.
- Variation Orders (VOs): Identify, track, and price design changes or site variations, negotiating fair settlements with clients.
- Contract Compliance: Review contract terms and conditions to mitigate financial and legal risks.
- Cost Control & Project Closure
- Budget Monitoring: Track project expenditures against budgets to prevent cost overruns.
- Wastage Management: Monitor material optimization (glass cutting lists and aluminium wastage) alongside the fabrication team.
- Final Accounts: Formulate, negotiate, and settle final accounts with clients and subcontractors to close out projects.
- Job Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a QS, specifically within the glazing, aluminium window, or façade industry .
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in measurement software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of local contract forms (e.g., SIA, PSSCOC) and technical knowledge of glass systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight project deadlines.
