About the role

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills and serve as a technical resource to a large and growing binding and brokerage team. Successful applicants will work with the in-house Underwriter(s) partnered with the carriers and retail agents to request and review underwriting information for processing of placement of coverage, invoicing, rating & processing endorsements, assisting with preparation of quotes and obtaining accurate state compliance documents. Responsibilities of Underwriting Assistant: Bind/invoice placement of coverage, rate and process endorsements with invoicing, audits, and other documents according to established departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance standards. Handle cancellation notices, cancellation endorsements and rescission documents. Act as liaison between clients and the underwriter to obtain missing information, status of quote/bind, and/or other requests for information. State SL compliance documentation handling. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Underwriting Assistant: High School graduate required; College courses preferred. Previous work experience in the fields of insurance underwriting, customer service, with a successful track record of at least 5 years or more. Positive attitude and enjoy helping others through frequent phone and email communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations. Strong organization skills, with a high level of detail orientation. Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and various rating portals.
