JOB PURPOSE The MCAD and Simulation Engineering IT Lead role is crucial for supporting, managing, and optimizing our Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) and engineering simulation tools. The candidate will oversee the administration and optimization of engineering tools, specifically in the areas of mechanical Computer-Aided Design (mCAD) and Simulation, he will manage MCAD and Simulation software team, to facilitate efficient and effective use in our automotive engineering and design processes. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure the tools meet their needs and drive productivity.
Responsibilities
- Team Management : Lead and mentor a team of IT Analysts, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for the effective use and optimization of mCAD and Simulation tools.
- Tool Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and updates of mCAD and Simulation software.
- User Support : Ensure high-quality technical support is provided to engineering teams, addressing issues related to mCAD and Simulation tools.
- Training : Oversee the development and delivery of training programs to enhance user proficiency with the tools.
- Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to improve tool performance and workflow efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to understand their requirements and ensure the tools meet their needs.
- Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation for tool usage, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures is maintained.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with software vendors for support, licensing, and updates.
- Partnering in IT : Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures, be a partner with the infrastructure team to support IT projects and Engineering IT projects.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on engineering tools (mCAD and Simulation), including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in mCAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Creo, Catia) and Simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, AMESim, Altair Hyperworks, Altair PBS...).
- Solid experience in supporting MCAD and engineering simulation software in an automotive or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for MCAD and simulation software customization is a plus.
- Experience with System Center Configuration Manager or Intune Company Portal a plus
- Leadership : Strong leadership and team management skills.
