JOB PURPOSE Be responsible for plant shift safe operation, shift team management, and shift team member's skillset development. Job Responsibilities Shift Production Possess good knowledge in typical polymerization plant operation, understand basic fundamentals on polymerization, boiler, furnace operations, and solid handlings.- Possess good understanding of standard operation procedures and be able to review and revise SOPs for Singapore polymer plant. Lead the operation shift team to operate a full process area, including polymerization process, utilities, material handling, and packaging steps, to meet the conditions specified in standard operation conditions and standard operation procedures. Patrol plant to observe process and equipment conditions, operation, maintenance, and contractor safe behaviours and working conditions. Prepare and organize patrol records, communicate and issue work orders. Assist and participate in coordination of daily maintenance activities, planning, turn around planning and activities. Support maintenance and quality team in troubleshooting's. Lead operation crew to carry out certain in-shift preventive maintenance work orders. Aligned with process engineers and area manager to take measures to improve production and equipment performance for productivity and quality continuous improvement. Ensure good shift reports and shift handover quality and timely completion. Shift Team Management Lead and deploy adequate resources within the shift and cross the shift to ensure sufficient resources to fulfil daily safe production needs. Co-ordinate OJT / Multi-skilling effort in the team. Conduct on-the-job training for new technicians and complete all required certification process as and when required to build up the team's competency. Complete all required training on time for the team. Ensure proper communication is delivered to the team members align with company policies and expectations. Manage and optimize team's consumables, and over time to further improve overall team's performance. Encourage employee engagement and foster empowerment and ownership through active leadership and standard work practices. Evaluate team members' performance and conduct performance reviews. Set expectation and hold people accountable for EHSS compliance and a role model for appropriate behaviour. Accountable for shift team performance and operational discipline. EHS Ensure shift team comply with company EHSS policies', procedures, local regulations, and safe work practices. Lead, promote, and participate EHSS activities in the shift, including, but not limited, concern reporting, safety risk assessment, PHA, safety best practice implementation and review, safety promotion initiatives, participate EHSS committee meetings, and incident investigation. Assume Site Frontline Commander (SFC) role in the emergency response and in the emergency response drills. Ensure shift team is fit and competent in the emergency response. Perform Permit To Work's job site risk assessment, and issue PTW to achieve safe work executions. Require possessing good knowledge safe work practices and certifications for high risk tasks, such as confined space entry, hot work, and line break. Report all incidents, near misses, deviation from plan and take part in further investigation when required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Diploma in Chemical Engineering with extensive years of working experience in Polymer and Chemical Plant Operations. Graduate with bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is a plus. 8 years' relevant work experience in Chemical Process Plant. 1 to 2 years relevant experiences in Supervisory role. Boiler certificates are plus. Hand-on Experiences in new plant commissioning and start up is an advantage. Highly organized with a strong ability to multitask, coordination, and prioritize works. Resourceful and willing to coach team members are basic expectations for the role. Good communication skills both in written and oral. Able to perform 12-hr rotating shift work.
