We have an opportunity with OrthoCarolina for a Part-Time Radiology Technologist for our Huntersville Urgent Care office location. The schedule for this position is: Monday and Friday evenings 5:30PM - 9:00PM. The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards. Essential Functions: Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns. Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patients with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods. Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures. Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor. Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, ( i.e. Siemens/GE/Philips). Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems. Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor . Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs. Observes safety and security procedures.
