Overview Edged Data Centers is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial structuring and negotiation of construction-related contracts supporting the development of our next-generation data centers. This role will be responsible for defining commercial terms, financial negotiations, and ensuring that all agreements are aligned with Edge's cost, risk, and execution objectives. The Commercial Manager will collaborate closely with legal, construction, engineering, finance, and sourcing teams to ensure construction contracts are commercially optimized, risk-balanced, and executable across the portfolio. This position requires strong commercial acumen, advanced negotiation skills, and experience structuring complex construction or infrastructure agreements in capital-intensive environments. Key Responsibilities Define and develop commercial strategies for construction contracts, ensuring alignment with project execution, budget, and Platform Delivery objectives, including pricing models, payment structures, escalation mechanisms, incentives, and performance-based adjustments. Act as the gatekeeper for corporate procurement standards, identifying off-playbook vendor requests and driving formal business leadership approval processes prior to commitment. Evaluate vendor redlines for commercial, financial, and operational impact, and co-lead negotiation sessions alongside Legal to present a unified corporate position. Partner with Legal to translate agreed commercial terms into clear and enforceable contractual language. Participate in project and portfolio reviews to ensure commercial alignment and strategy prior to contract execution. Develop and maintain commercial playbooks, templates, and standard positions for construction contracts to drive consistency across projects. Capture and apply lessons learned from prior negotiations to continuously improve outcomes. Skills & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field. (An MBA or relevant advanced certifications like CPSM are a plus). 5+ years of experience in commercial management, procurement, contract negotiation, or related roles Experience negotiating construction, infrastructure, or capital equipment agreements Strong expertise in pricing models, payment structures, and commercial risk allocation Strong analytical and financial acumen, including cost modeling and cash flow considerations Proven ability to lead negotiations in complex, fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments Preferred Experience Experience in data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, construction, or energy sectors Familiarity with construction contracting models (EPC, EPCM, design-build, modular delivery) Experience structuring large-scale CAPEX agreements Exposure to long-lead infrastructure or equipment installation contracts EEO Statement: Edged is an equal opportunities employer.
