Work Model: This role can be performed remotely from an approved location, with flexibility based on business needs and applicable requirements. ____________________ Kollmorgen Corporation seeks an Application Engineer reporting to headquarters in Radford, Virginia to support mechanical engineering automation systems. Install, test, and troubleshoot automation components. Provide training, consulting, and support services for Automated Guided Vehicles ("AGVs") and Autonomous Mobile Robots ("AMRs"). Conduct testing and evaluation of new automation system technologies. Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs, define potential solutions, and provide onsite or remote assistance. Perform field installations of prototype systems and train customer resources on the operation of the equipment. Develop and deliver e-learning modules and training to end users on software and hardware products. Troubleshoot technical issues for automation systems. Serve as a product expert for company technologies. Support sales engineering. Develop solutions, testing, and validation procedures and documentation. Prepare product proposals including technical descriptions. Create assembly and layout drawings, design documentation, and Bill of Materials ("BOM") using CAD software. Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. permitted up to 5 days per week. Travel to various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States up to 20% of the time. Annual Salary: $129,293/year Minimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field plus four years of automation systems experience. Must have at least four years of experience in each of the following: 1. Installing, testing, and troubleshooting automation components; 2. Creating assembly and layout drawings, design documentation, and Bill of Materials ("BOM") using CAD software; 3. Performing field installations of prototype systems and training customer resources on the operation of the equipment; 4. Preparing product proposals including technical descriptions; 5. Providing technical training on automation systems; and 6. Supporting sales engineering.
