About the role

We are seeking a skilled and student-centered Elementary Teacher to teach core content areas and build a joyful, structured, academically strong classroom for students. In grades K-2, teachers teach all core content areas, including literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning. In grades 3-5, teachers typically specialize in ELA, Math, or Science/Social Studies , allowing them to deepen content expertise and collaborate closely with grade-level teams. Teachers use EL Education for ELA and Eureka Math for mathematics to deliver standards-based instruction that supports strong academic growth. The ideal candidate brings strong elementary instructional practice, excellent classroom management, and a deep belief in the brilliance and potential of all students. Responsibilities

  • Instruction & Student Support
  • Teach standards-based lessons aligned to your grade level and role, whether teaching all core content areas in K-2 or specializing in ELA, Math, or Science/Social Studies in grades 3-5
  • Create a structured, engaging classroom culture with clear expectations, strong routines, and high levels of student engagement and accountability
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs, including intervention, acceleration, and enrichment
  • Support students' social-emotional growth and help them develop the skills needed to be successful learners and community members
  • Planning, Assessment & Data Use
  • Internalize and prepare purposeful lessons aligned to grade-level standards and curriculum expectations
  • Use student work, formative assessments, and summative data to adjust instruction and monitor progress
  • Identify student strengths, misconceptions, and gaps in order to plan targeted support
  • Collaboration & Family Engagement
  • Collaborate with grade-level, content, special education, multilingual learner, and leadership teams to support student success
  • Partner with families to communicate student progress, strengths, and areas for growth
  • Contribute to a positive school culture rooted in care, accountability, and shared responsibility
  • Professional Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Deep belief in the limitless potential of all students and commitment to helping them thrive as global citizens
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
  • Pennsylvania elementary teacher certification, or active progress toward certification, preferred
  • Experience working in urban school communities and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff preferred
  • Experience with EL Education, Eureka Math, or other high-quality instructional curricula preferred
  • Strong understanding of effective instructional practices, student engagement, and classroom culture
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the abi
