We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our Orion delivery team in Lisbon. Orion is a strategic platform supporting the control and supervision of non-financial risk. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a critical system within a collaborative, agile, and international environment. 🚀 Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services Contribute to the evolution and architecture of the Orion platform Deliver core features and entity-specific enhancements Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and best practices Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to translate requirements into technical solutions Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) Identify and implement technical improvements (performance, security, scalability) Support deployments and contribute to production stability Strong experience with Java (8+) Proven experience with Spring / Spring Boot Solid understanding of RESTful API design Experience with relational databases ( Oracle, PostgreSQL ) Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments Understanding of non-functional requirements ( performance, security, scalability ) ⭐ Nice to Have Experience in banking or financial services Knowledge of microservices architecture Experience with Docker / Kubernetes Exposure to event-driven architectures or messaging systems 🌐 Languages Fluent English (mandatory) 🤝 Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in international and distributed teams Proactive mindset with a strong focus on delivery
