QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, you MUST meet all of the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Basic Requirements: Individual Occupational Requirements Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Specialized Experience:(for positions above GS-5): Experience must demonstrate a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. AND In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, applicants must have the following Minimum qualifying specialized experience: MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Minimum qualifying specialized experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance. GS-1712-11: In order to qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-09 level in the federal service. Examples of the minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-09 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis: Delivering formal classroom, virtual, experiential, or performance-based training to adult learners using established instructional methods and techniques; Providing coaching, mentoring, counseling, or developmental feedback to students, employees, or trainees to support successful completion of training programs and individual performance improvement ; and Assisting with the development, revision, implementation, or maintenance of curriculum, lesson plans, instructional materials, standard operating procedures, or training program documentation. OR; Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a major study related to this position. OR; Combination of education and experience : A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
