Leading and training USCG marine inspections personnel on conducting vessel examinations and inspections focused on vessel compliance with applicable international conventions and domestic regulations (navigation, intra-vessel communications and alarms, lifesaving, firefighting, and pollution prevention systems) Acting as a USCG marine inspector verifying officer for previously attained USCG marine inspector qualifications, serving as a board member on marine inspector qualification boards, and implementing and/or supporting the Marine Inspector Performance Support Architecture (MIPSA) Conducting vessel examinations and inspections as a designated USCG Journeyman Marine Inspector (JMI) or USCG Advanced Journeyman Marine Inspector (AJMI) Utilizing the Marine Information Technologies for Safety and Law Enforcement (MISLE) system to review and document vessel USCG examination and inspections records.
