Job Description: JOB TITLE: Sr. Process Engineer Department: Manufacturing & Substrate Location: Green Island, NY ______________________________________________________________________________ JOB SUMMARY : The Senior Process Engineer will oversee the design and operation of manufacturing processes and machinery related the production of aluminum nitride semiconductor substrates. The individual will apply deep professional knowledge and command of core concepts to identify and recommend solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Designs processes and machinery used to manufacture aluminum nitride semiconductor substrates. Plans and executes long-term assignments that require analysis, exercising judgement and data-driven decision making. Tasks include developing test procedures, hardware, and software using automated test equipment or lab equipment, validating test measurement accuracy, characterizing device performance, conducting data analysis, and generating documents. Applies analytical, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking to develop creative solutions in a wide range of situations. Oversees the development of new processes, methods, and production controls. Maintains knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes. Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities : Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment. Working knowledge of semiconductor substrate processing relating to areas such as CMP, wire-sawing, grinding, surface treatments and characterization techniques, AFM, XRD, wafer shape inspection systems and methods, or other applicable areas in the production of semiconductor substrates Understanding of production principles, metrology, yield and KPI's Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with any of the following is a benefit: computer-aided design (CAD) software, relational databases (SQL), scripting using JMP, Python, or Visual basic. MINIMUM EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field required, and a minimum 5-10 years' experience. OR Master's degree or PhD in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering or related field required, and a minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. The base compensation range for this role is $115,000-135,000.
