About the role
Full-Time, Fixed-Term position until December 2026 Salary Level HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation Based at the Melbourne CBD campus We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Officer (Dental) to support our teaching and learning environment. In this role, you will maintain and demonstrate the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, while providing hands-on technical support to both staff and students. You will be responsible for ensuring that laboratory and associated facilities are well maintained, with a strong commitment to upholding occupational health and safety standards. Additionally, you will bring your expertise in producing materials, casts, and moulds to assist in the manufacture of a broad range of dental technology components. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical knowledge in a dynamic, education-focused setting. To be successful in this position, you will have: Experience in providing technical support to Dental teaching areas Demonstrated ability to manage teaching and work laboratories Demonstrated high level of practical involvement in the implementation and testing of equipment and instruments, and development of techniques and procedures within an educational environment including CAD/CAM operations and 3D Printing Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and an ability to take responsibility and initiative Be able to perform tasks that require proficiency in workplace rules, regulations, process and techniques Demonstrate a proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, work autonomously, and manage complex work, while operating independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service and to working cooperatively and productively as a team member to achieve organisational objectives
Requirements
- Completed or demonstrated a relevant skill set in dental technology, including practical experience and technical competence as a dental technician. (TAFE Certificate and or higher)
- Demonstrate management skills ability to work as part of a team and ability to relate to apprentices/trainees
