JOB DESCRIPTION Name of the Position: SAP ABAP Consultant Company/OPCO: DIG ITAL Function/department: DAE Reporting to: SAP support team lead Location: Chennai Role summary: ECC ABAP Programmer Digitalization is a strategic priority for ROCKWOOL. In alignment with this agenda, the organization is initiating the replacement of its existing ERP system with a modern solution. To ensure uninterrupted business operations during the transition, ROCKWOOL is establishing a dedicated support sub-team focused on maintaining the stability and performance of the legacy ERP platform. The ABAP Consultant has the responsibility to ensure that changes to former implementations are carried out in such a way that maximum synergy savings and benefits for the Group and, if possible, as well for OPCOs are obtained in the implementation projects and in the subsequent use of the installed systems. The ABAP Consultant ensures through cooperation with the other consultants that all support of RockBis Group is done in only one way with a common data structure and common data definitions. The ABAP Consultant has the responsibility to become / stay the SAP-expert in the technical area, by attending following the developments in the system and the market. The ABAP Consultant keeps his line manager informed about status, plans and possible problems and proposals for improvements in connection with all planned and started support cases and projects. The ABAP Consultant is responsible for the quality and the efficiency of the consulting work being performed and that it is performed in accordance with project assistance agreements. The ABAP Consultant has the authority required to complete agreed support tasks, projects and responsibilities. The ABAP Consultant works in accordance with the general procedures, policies and guidelines for the Rockwool Group, with special attention to the RockBis Policies, Informatics Guideline, Data Security Guideline, Principles of Leadership and the Project Management Guideline. Reporting Structure Team Members : - The ABAP Consultant reports functionally to one Functional Manager (Product Managers or Functional Team Lead) who oversees domain-specific development, skill growth, and cooperates in relation to the performance evaluation. - The ABAP Consultant reports operationally to the SAP Support sub team - Team Lead , who coordinates day-to-day activities, ensures alignment with SAP teams goals, and facilitates team cohesion. Key responsibilities and activities include, but is not limited to: Work on translated business requirements (technical specification) by the Functional Lead /consultant per area (module) and transfer into technical solutions in SAP Prioritize all the assigned tasks and compete accordingly Assist Digital and OPCO's in programming of the system according to Group goals Assist in ensuring that modifications to application code will not be made without Management/Solution Architect approval Assist in ensuring that possible required add-on solutions will be useful for other OPCOs having similar needs Secure communication between himself and the Rockwool Functional Lead/Consultant Secure communication between himself and the line manager Ensure that all programming is documented according to the guidelines Assist in secure that all new processes/functions are coordinated within the OPCO's already running in the system Support in ad hoc problems (via debugging) on request of a Functional Lead / consultant Follow best practices on mapping development, process, and procedure. Must have strong technical documentation skills. Collaborate with representatives from other IT areas, customers/suppliers, to determine the development feasibility. Must be able to interact well with multiple priorities in an extremely dynamic environment, initiating necessary tasks and ensuring complete follow-up. Attend code reviews to assure compliance. Proactively clarify work instructions or analyze issues. Provide production support as needed. Support the ROCKWOOL DIGITAL Strategy of delivering Value-Added IT solutions to the Business. Work with other Functional Leads, Solution Architects and other Consultants to deliver new functionality that improves business efficiencies and productivity while being in alignment with the group's architecture. Help deliver savings and benefits to the Group by constantly looking for improvements to business processes Provide functional guidance to ensure IT solution integrity and maintain documentation updated (technical specifications) Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, customer-focused attitude within and between departments.
