About the role
You will serve as a CHEMIST in the Laboratory Quality and Accreditation Office (Code 1561), Quality Performance Control Division (Code 1560), Naval Shipyard Support Office (Code 1500), at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience demonstrating knowledge of analytical, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry and statistics. Experience utilizing quality assurance and quality control procedures and requirements specifically ISO 9000 and ISO 17025. Experience applying chemical principles to assigned projects where precedents are not directly applicable. GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying current environmental chemistry and materials test methods, standards and practices in quality control, including local and corporate policies and procedures. Experience planning and executing laboratory audits and assessments including the review of quality control procedures, data and review of quality documents. Experience providing technical support for various navy environmental investigations.
