Responsibilities

- Contributes to business development, including preparing proposals, presentations, and bids, and supporting market growth initiatives.
- Manages multidisciplinary projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, and quality assurance throughout project delivery.
- Develops and oversees technical reports and regulatory submissions, ensuring alignment with provincial and federal environmental legislation (e.g., Fisheries Act , Species at Risk Act , Impact Assessment Act ).
- Fosters a positive culture across the Practice Area to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of the team, ensuring risks are appropriately identified and managed in line with SLR's Key Safety Principles.

- Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
- Professional experience (10+ years) as an Ecologist in the environmental consulting industry.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.), in Biology, Ecology, or Natural Sciences; a Master's degree (M.Sc.) is considered an asset.
- Accreditation as a Registered Professional Biologist through the College of Applied Biologists of BC.
- Experience and ability to work with people within a technical consulting or professional services environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging internal staff, clients, contractors, Indigenous members, and regulators.
- Ability to engage, develop, and retain team members.
- Experience supporting environmental assess

The Team Leader supports resourcing, delivery quality, commercial performance and people development in alignment with the Practice Area strategy. They partner with other regional Team Leaders, Practice Manager, and Practice Leader to translate strategy into execution, leading team performance and building a cohesive, capable, and engaged team. Bringing experience in a consulting environment, the Team Leader demonstrates ability to work with people, manage resources and work within a team to deliver shared goals, including technical, commercial, and cultural. Success in the role is underpinned by strong skills in communication, collaboration, and project delivery. Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Team Leader is a key member of the Business Unit and regional leadership team, contributing to the overall success and direction of the organization.
