About the role
Our Finance group is currently looking to add a Payroll Administrator to our team, based in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, we are seeking an experienced payroll professional to support the payroll team with accurate and timely processing of payroll data. This role includes reviewing and entering timesheets, maintaining payroll records, and performing routine payroll tasks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in payroll administration, strong attention to detail, and a working knowledge of payroll systems and legislation. Duties and Responsibilities Enter employee timesheet data into the payroll system accurately and on schedule Review input and communicate with Field administrative people as necessary Input routine payroll transactions such as vacation pay, advances and assist with preparing payroll documents and reports under supervision Organize, file, and maintain payroll data (electronic and paper-based) Assist in preparing Records of Employment (ROEs) as needed Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding timesheets or payroll status, escalating more complex issues to senior team members Support with printing, distribution, or emailing of pay stubs or payroll-related communication Collaborate with other Payroll Administrators and the Payroll Manager to ensure payroll deadlines are met Provide coverage and support during peak periods or team absences Maintain confidentiality and adhere to payroll procedures and company policies High school diploma or equivalent Experience in payroll, accounting, or an administrative data entry role Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy Familiarity with payroll systems or HRIS (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, JD Edwards) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Skills / Qualifications Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification This position offers a base salary range of $55 000 - $65 000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including a 5% RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
