Responsibilities may include collecting, disposing, and maintaining records of urine specimens; conducting drug screenings; maintaining the inventory of testing supplies and equipment testifying in court; reporting and documenting testing results; ensuring documentation procedures are done in accordance with policies and procedures; and providing training on testing result documentation. Location: 605 South 10 Street, Ste B100, Lincoln, NE 68508-2803 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 1:30 pm Salary: This Drug Technician's pay range is $15.13 to $18.43 per hour. After probation period is completed, the Permanent wage will increase at least 2.5%. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved. Job Duties 1. Greets clients, collects testing forms and accompanies to drug testing area. 2. Conduct drug screening in accordance with established systems and procedures using approved testing methodologies. This includes obtaining urine specimen from Probationers, recording, and reporting results. 3. Stores testing samples in secure location and ensures chain of custody procedures are observed at all times. 4. Maintains drug testing supplies and equipment inventory. 5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. The above classification responsibilities represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education. Preferred Qualifications : Prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and working with the offender population.
