The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Inspector V for the Cinncinati and/or Columbus, OH office. Our people bring deep industry knowledge to help you succeed The selected individual will be a key person in the administration of transportation engineering projects in Michigan. The individual will lead and guide lower-level inspection staff, coordinate work with Contractors, schedule inspection staff, review daily reports, and assist in activities that lead to new work, such as meeting with clients, writing proposals, and reviewing plans and specifications during the project pursuit phase. Weekend and night work will be required. Overnight travel within the state may be required. The selected individual will be a key person in the administration of transportation engineering projects in Michigan. Weekend and night work will be required. Overnight travel within the state may be required. Minimum Requirement s: High School Diploma or equivalent + 8 years of related experience and or education. Valid driver's license is required. Preferred Requirements: 15+ years of ODOT, other state DOT, or local agency construction inspection experience required; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. Ability to document any and all relevant events, issues and variances. Good active written and verbal communication with construction personnel and engineers. Ability to perform basic computations and calculations and review calculations that other inspectors complete. Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Provides on the job training to new employees. Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. Tracks quality assurance progress. Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers. Overnight travel within the state may be required. ODOT required Certification.
