Damage detection is one of the highest-leverage functions in fleet operations determining the quality of evidence for customer damage claims, driving repair and reconditioning decisions, and directly influencing P&L at the scale of one of the world's largest vehicle fleets. We are building a best-in-class, AI-enabled damage detection capability from the ground up, and you as a Senior Director Damage Detection (m/f/d) will own it end-to-end. Sounds interesting? YOUR ROLE AT SIXT You own gate supplier relationships by leading the selection, onboarding, and implementation of damage gate suppliers globally and by driving quality monitoring, performance benchmarking, and issue resolution You drive the global gate rollout by owning the rollout plan that prioritizes stations by volume and value potential, coordinating across branch operations, IT, Car Control, and Damage Claims You define and implement one-way rental flows by managing the architecture and implementation of gate-to-mobile and mobile-to-gate damage documentation to ensure reliable vehicle comparison You build the mobile detection target picture and roadmap by defining the strategic evolution from human-led to fully AI-enabled capability, leading the make vs. buy process, and driving product development You develop and challenge mobile operations flows by designing, testing, and refining check-out and check-in processes to ensure operational feasibility and robustness for claims You resolve detection rate issues at their source by identifying and addressing detection gaps together with gate providers and operations to drive systematic improvements YOUR SKILLS MATTER Experience You bring 10+ years of Operations leadership combined with technology experience in complex transformations, ideally in mobility, automotive, rental, or logistics Senior supplier management You have selected, onboarded, and managed technology suppliers at leadership level including negotiation, performance management, and escalation Damage detection technology fluency You understand automated gate solutions, AI-based image analysis, and mobile documentation or learn quickly and rigorously Roadmap building You have developed strategic target pictures, translated them into prioritized plans, and have driven execution through large organizations Operational understanding You operate comfortably from CEO alignment meetings down to branch floor operations without outsourcing operational knowledge Languages You are fluent in English; German skills are a plus
