THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 & 2 ONLY WITH PRIORITY GIVEN TO AREA 1. AOC DEFINITIONS: Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard. Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard. Min/Max Military Grades: MSgt/E7, SMSgt/E8 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Skilled in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats. Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material. Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: TO BE RATED QUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION YOUR RESUME MUST DEFINITIVELY SHOW at least 36 months of specialized working experiences in performing, training and/or supervising assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Must have working and training experiences in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. Skilled in planning tasks for subordinate workers and expanded knowledge in using the equipment, facilities and materials. Skilled in meeting deadlines, in using time management to satisfy priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Experiences included redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Skilled in articulating work requirements to higher level supervisors and experienced in planning current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommending projected work. Competent in researching and addressing work related problems such as, excessive costs or low productivity; and, determining the relevant causes. Experiences included implementing corrective actions, within authority, to resolve work problems. Must have the skill and knowledge to plan work and manage leave schedules. Capabilities included the ability to determine the types and levels of training needs, along with providing mentorship and guidance to subordinates for their professional skill and knowledge improvements. Experienced in writing performance standards and provided subordinates with formal appraisals of their work performance. Experiences involved advising and counseling workers on how to improve their performance through explanations and demonstrations of work techniques. Work efforts included initiating recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates to senior supervisors. Competent in reviewing job descriptions for accuracy and clarity. Knowledgeable in the correct methods used to investigate, analyze, and resolve grievances and complaints. Experiences involved providing recommendations for disciplinary actions. Skilled in applying interview techniques and understanding of body language patterns. Experiences included interviewing candidates for vacancies and recommending selections to higher level supervisors. Skilled in conducting environmental safety requirements and identifying equipment handling concerns that resulted in observed safety and housekeeping practices. Experiences included compliance with wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following pertinent safety precautions. Skilled and knowledgeable of management objectives and programs, that included addressing labor-management relations, Equal Employment Opportunity, internal controls, safety, energy conservation, environmental controls, and property accountability. Skilled in writing and presenting work reports and maintaining accurate records. Experienced in participating in readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Experiences may have included work that involved accident/mishap responses, shift supervision, special project management, heavy equipment operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or served as a team member that responded to natural disasters or civil emergencies.
