About the role

Our Opportunity GPJ is hiring a Director, Content & Speaker Services to join our growing team. This role is hybrid, requiring you to report on-site to one of the following office locations a minimum of 2 days/week: Austin, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York City, or San Francisco. Your Role Your role as Director on the Content & Speaker Services team involves supervising and leading the Content Department. In this capacity, you stay informed about our client programs to ensure that we are compliant with client needs and requirements. You support new business development, team and resource management for content operations scope. You provide coaching, guidance and performance feedback to your direct reports, content and support staff and to junior team members. You are extremely knowledgeable to expertly supervise as well as deliver and project manage content operations scope: planning, developing, and executing breakout session logistics and speaker support for your assigned projects. You can consult for business development efforts with potential clients as you are an expert at overall content project management, handling speaker or other client-facing communications, handling content tasks/tools, technical requirements gathering, and session data management. As a team leader, you have oversight on management of session and speaker data, review and performing quality control, routine testing and analysis. You train and onboard new team members. Your expertise allows you to provide prescriptive recommendations and guide clients on best practices, effectively addressing challenges and enhancing content operations delivery and impact. You support and consult on content development of detailed timelines for deliverables on breakout sessions and speaker components which include Call for Participation, Speaker registration, Voting/Session selection and/or Notification, Speaker Content Portal(SRC), Session Catalog, Agenda Builder. You can advise as well as support other event elements like rooms set up, room capacity management, production AV requirements, technical rehearsal scheduling, session ingress/egress, final presentation file management, content signage, program guides, guided agendas, localization, and more. Your experience in this role, allows you to consult on tools set up and process design and workflow. You are knowledgeable about the onsite content process including set up of a Speaker ready room, tech check, rehearsal management, speaker hospitality, final file management processes, VIP speaker requirements etc and can advise and support the onsite team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills: interacting professionally with internal teams as well as external client stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling logistics as well as content materials. Proficiency with technical tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Expertise with content management systems (CMS) Collaborative team player, adaptive to changing priorities Establish relationships with clients as a content leader and consultant Serve as an experienced advisor in your field for internal/client teams You're knowledgeable on successfully managing all phases of breakout session/speaker event content plan or playbook in a timely manner Knowledgeable on content strategy, digital content engagement and communications professionals who successfully deliver client satisfaction Your Competencies Initiative - Assess & identify what needs to be done and act on it before being asked or before the situation requires it. Be a proactive consultant at all times to your direct client and speaker contacts and the GPJ team. Provide superior customer service by prioritizing personal interactions (verbal or face-face) with our clients on a regular cadence. Listening as well as advising our clients on given situations to ensure project success. Prioritization / Organization - Properly allocate time and resources so that jobs are completed within a defined timeframe; establishing a reasonable timeline for completion when no concrete date is given and clearly communicate that to the parties involved.
