About the role This is a dynamic academic role within the Built Environment discipline, combining teaching, research, and service. In this role, you will: Build and sustain an active research programme, contribute to School research groups, engage with industry partners, publish scholarly work, secure research funding, and supervise student research. Deliver and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, contribute to curriculum innovation across Built Environment disciplines, and foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports student success. Strengthen relationships with industry and the wider community, contribute to professional and community service, and support the University's commitments, including the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Participate in committees, support administrative activities, uphold University policies, contribute to a collaborative culture, and maintain ongoing professional development. About you To be successful in this role, you will: Hold a relevant PhD in construction management, construction IT and AI, architecture, engineering, building science, civil engineering, or a related field, with a strong record of research and publications relevant to the Built Environment, including, but not limited to, design, construction, facilities management, and the interfaces between these project stages. Hold, or be working towards, current and relevant professional qualifications in one or more professional institutes related to the Built Environment (e.g. RICS, NZIQS, CIOB, PMI). Have recent and relevant teaching experience within a university or other tertiary education environment. Have a reputable peer-reviewed research publication record. Have experience successfully securing competitive external academic research or industry R&D funding. Have a proven record of successful postgraduate research supervision. What's in it for you?
