About the role

We are looking for an AI Sourcer who is driven to build the team that will define the future of autonomous defense systems. You will drive top‑of‑funnel sourcing efforts, build thoughtful outreach strategies, and cultivate long‑term relationships with highly specialized talent across academia and industry to support our AI engineering hiring goals. From working cross departmentally with team leaders, sourcing world class talent, to advising hiring managers to delivering an exceptional candidate experience, you will shape the team responsible for bringing next generation autonomy to the U.S. military. Responsibilities

  • Build highly targeted searches that deliver candidate profiles with precision
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview processes, and long term hiring strategies
  • Build and maintain pipelines of high caliber technical talent across a range of specialized domains
  • Proactively source candidates from adjacent industries
  • Own candidate experience from first outreach to final offer, ensuring clarity, speed, and a high bar for communication
  • Develop strong knowledge of technical roles and the skills required to succeed at Scout, enabling accurate screening and effective storytelling
  • Track, analyze, and communicate sourcing metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve process efficiency
  • Act as a consultative partner to technical leaders, advising on talent markets, competitive positioning, and hiring best practices
  • Represent Scout at technical events, conferences, and university engagements to strengthen brand awareness and talent attraction
  • Collaborate with Business Operations on offer strategy, leveling expectations, and compensation alignment

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience sourcing specialized Engineering and/or AI talent across a range of highly technical domains. Experience hiring in one or more of the following domains: robotics, AI, embedded systems, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or defense
  • Strong understanding of technical skill sets across both software and hardware development
  • Proven ability to source for highly specialized profiles in technical fields
  • Ability to manage multiple high volume pipelines while maintaining exceptional candidate communication
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration in a fast moving environment
  • Clear and effective communication skills with candidates and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency with recruitment tools and platforms (e.g., Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter) to manage the recruiting process efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to provide data informed insights to improve recruiting outcomes
